Chris Clayton is a Nashville-based CCM/Worship producer and songwriter signed to Story House Publishing — founded and led by five-time GRAMMY nominated and multiple GMA Dove Award winning songwriter Matthew West — and Essential Music Publishing (a unit of Sony Music Entertainment).

Chris’ work centers on helping artists and churches create songs that are theologically grounded, musically durable, and positioned for long-term impact within the Church. At the core of his approach is a conviction that worship songs should be crafted with both excellence and responsibility — written with clarity, produced with strength, and stewarded for generations.

He is credited on projects with a variety of artists including Chris Tomlin, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Selah, Big Daddy Weave, Natalie Layne, Meredith Andrews, Josh Baldwin & Bethany Wohrle from Bethel Music, Darlene Zchech, Shane and Shane, Bridge Worship, Christine D'Clario, CityAlight, and Skye Reedy just to name a few.  Chris has written songs and/or produced records for some the largest churches in America including The Belonging Co., Houston's First Baptist Church, Valley Creek Church, Pinelake Church, and Crossroads Church.  In addition, Chris was nominated as a songwriter in 2018 for the Gospel Music Association Canada Covenant Award for Pop Song of the Year.

Chris resides in the Nashville area with his beautiful and amazing wife Kara, and their five awesome kids. When he is not in the studio you can find him in the back yard pulling together an amazing BBQ feast or hanging out with family and friends.
